How to Play: Go Fish
Share
Objective
Collect the most books. A book is a set of four cards of the same rank (e.g., four jacks, four aces).
Setup
-
Shuffle & Deal:
- Rotate the dealer each round.
- 2–3 players: 7 cards each.
- 4+ players: 5 cards each.
- Place the remaining cards face down in the center – this is the pool.
How to Play
- Player to the left of the dealer goes first.
- On your turn:
- Ask another player for cards of a specific rank (e.g., “Do you have any kings?”).
- You must already have one card of that rank.
- If the player has cards of that rank, they give all of them to you → you take another turn.
- If not, they say “Go Fish” → draw one card from the pool → turn ends.
- Form books: When you collect four cards of the same rank, place them face up on the table.
Special Rules
- No cards left? Draw from the pool and continue asking.
- Pool empty? If a player runs out of cards, they are out.
Winning the Game
The game ends when all 13 books are complete.
Winner: The player with the most books.
